reset

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 10:15 PM

I'd like to say I haven't been blogging because I've been writing fast and furious; truth is, I'm in the midst of some major drama, and it was just a tough and horribly draining week, in which not a whole lot got done other than dealing with said major drama. I didn't even make it to the office. Any office. (The intent was there...)

Tomorrow: new day, reset, start again.

Hang in there; drama fades

so sorry
Drama = pain. So sorry to hear. Reach out to your friends at times like these. They are there always there for you. Better days will come! You deserve everything.

Uh oh.
Just got back in town and saw this.

I hope you and yours are well, and that the coming week is drama-free...

I had major drama recently too, so I just sent an off-the-grid hello.

Please don't feel obligated, even a teensy bit, to respond in any way; I just wanted the door open if it was helpful.

Henry Esmond
. . . 'tis misfortune that awakens ingenuity, or fortitude, or endurance, in hearts where these qualities had never come to life but for the circumstance which gave them a being.

Re: Henry Esmond
I actually had a bullied, extremely lonely childhood/adolescence (in a much humbler & more limited environment than my current one) and my first son died of SIDS-related causes when he was 10 weeks old -- I was 29 -- so I arrive at this point in my life a fairly tough cookie. Compared to that, this is cake. (You like how I combined such sugary metaphors?) In fact, it's my reliance on those qualities that even put me in this drama in the first place, although doubtless other things in my heart might awake...the ability to always remember where I put my car keys would be nice. Unlikely, of course, but nice.

Re: Henry Esmond
Dear, dear lady... I have never replied to your blog, although I read it faithfully. You are a brilliant woman with fascinating descriptions of your colorful and unlikely life. Your comment yesterday about the loss of your first son has left me reeling. I could hardly sleep last night and have been thinking about it constantly today. You have lived out one of my worst nightmares. I want you to know the pain I have been feeling for you. You may have tired long ago of others' sympathy and condolences, but by revealing this horrifying detail of your past you have offered to your readers an entirely new dimension of your character as a writer and observer of human experience. I have an even greater respect for your perspectives. Thank you.

I have hidden away from my four children more than once today to pray for you. I feel a strong burden for you right now. Know that there is someone out there, right now, interceding for you and lifting you up.

Re: Henry Esmond
Longfellow is, by far, a better source of literary reference for your life my dear.
